05 – Fruit of the Spirit

We have a deaf ministry at the Western Hills Church of Christ in Cincinnati, Ohio. It started in 1989. We have 25 – 30 deaf people coming every week. I chose the Fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22, and illustrated how to express each one in sign language. I began with a variety of fruit at the top for the title. I then separated each section with a carving that looks like a basket weave. It’s kind of interesting, but in the NIV Bible, the first three fruit are all one-syllable words, the next three are two-syllable words, and the last three are all three-syllable words. Listed below are the nine Fruit of the Spirit.
