(B) About Ron Vance

Whatever you do…

Two of my favorite verses are found in Colossians 3. The first verse is located in verse 17: “And whatever you do…” I love the way it starts out. “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” In other words, whatever you do, do something that will bring glory and honor go God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. The second verse, found in verse 23, starts out the same way! “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” In other words, whatever you do, do your very best because you are doing this for the Lord, and the Lord deserves nothing but the very best! So whenever I do anything, I do it to bring glory and honor to God, and I do my very best for Him. I have discovered that when I do this, He will take it beyond anything I can ever imagine. I would like to share with you one way He has done this in my life.

I was born and raised on a farm in Wilmington, Ohio, but have spent the majority of my life in Cincinnati, Ohio.  I graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with two degrees and have had ministries in Canton, Ohio; Erlanger, Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio.  I have two brothers that are also in the ministry.  One of those brothers is my identical twin.

Right now, I am the associate minister at the Western Hills Church of Christ, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am mainly in charge of the youth and education, but I do some work in missions and outreach. It is a great church, and I have been with that church since June 1987. Many of the kids there have grown up with me being the only youth minister they have known. The ministry with Western Hills Church has been a great inspiration to my life.
